WetStone Announces StegoHunt™ MP

Posted by wetstone on August 21, 2020

Cortland, NY – August 21, 2020 —WetStone Technologies reinforces its position as the world’s leading provider of commercial steganography detection software with its announcement today of the launch of StegoHunt™ MP and StegoFlash™ MP.

StegoHunt MP and StegoFlash MP are the next generation versions of WetStone’s industry leading steganalysis tools. These tools have been completely rewritten to provide better performance, ease of use, new functionality, and the ability to support multiple operating system platforms.

StegoHunt MP’s new modern codebase improves upon the previous version of StegoHunt, giving users exciting new features. In addition to the improved steganography detection algorithms, StegoHunt MP and StegoFlash MP feature enhanced reporting, an all-new user interface, support for a broader array of file types, as well as custom whitelisting.

StegoHunt MP effectively detects the presence of both data hiding programs and the files in which data may have been hidden (carrier files). It provides digital investigators, corporate auditors, incident response teams, and data loss prevention (DLP) experts with an easy-to-use suite of steganography forensic tools.

“Steganography-based attacks are on the rise,” said Carlton Jeffcoat, Senior Vice-President for WetStone Technologies. “Steganography continues to be used by cybercriminals to covertly exfiltrate intellectual property from an organization, undetected by today’s data loss prevention systems.  However, in recent years, it has also become more common to see malware attacks leveraging the technology to conceal the malware payload or its command-and-control (C2) communications channel.  To counter these threats, WetStone strives to provide the security community with the most advanced tools for detecting the presence of data hiding.  Last year WetStone announced our steganography detection gateway solution, StegoCommand.  Today, we are pleased to announce the next generation of our award-winning steganography detection and steganalysis tools, StegoHunt MP and StegoFlash MP.”

Current StegoHunt and StegoFlash users with active support agreements may upgrade to the corresponding MP version at no additional charge.
