"Global Threat Intelligence - The Road Ahead"
The world we live in today requires diligence in defense measures to keep ahead of cyber criminals. However, today’s methodology typically results in an arms race between the offensive and defensive positions and presents scalability issues for any organization’s defensive positions. In order to achieve better results in winning this arms race, organizations must adopt a different approach to gaining better intelligence about the opposition’s movement and tactics.
Given the unprecedented growth and complexity of today's threats that leverage multiple vectors such as email and Web 2.0 for propagation and infection, the approach to threat research also has to change — from reactive, to real-time, to predictive. This session will present concepts and examples for organizations to progress from current state security threat research to global threat intelligence, highlighting key principles that can be applied to any organization, and the security decisions and deployments within it.

Panel VI: The Future of Mobile Device Forensics
Today’s high tech environment presents new challenges to law enforcement as criminals exploit technology to threaten our banking, financial and critical infrastructures. As a result, law enforcement has been propelled into technologically unfamiliar terrain requiring highly specialized skills and innovative applications of traditional investigative strategies. It is imperative that agents and officers who focus on combating cyber crime receive equipment, tools, and training that allow them to keep pace with advancements in technology. Panelists include several cell phone forensic hardware/software vendors. The panel will focus on what new avenues the vendors are exploring to keep pace with cell phone manufacturers and new mobile device privacy technology.

Panel VII: Training the 21st Century Investigator
The unfortunate truth is that those who purpose to use computers and cyber technologies to commit criminal activity have too often left investigators behind, struggling to discover how to track, apprehend, and ultimately convict them. A large part of the answer to this issue lies in effective training. Panel members will discuss theory, strategies and methods for conducting relevant and meaningful training for investigators who must strengthen their skills in order to be successful.
